Start with Worcester Cathedral
Worcester Cathedral is a strong first stop for a day in the city centre, with fourteen centuries of worship and several historic features to see. Its visitor entrance is the North Porch in College Yard, opposite the High Street.
Inside, visitor highlights include King John’s tomb, Prince Arthur’s Chantry, the Norman crypt, medieval cloisters and Victorian stained glass. Most areas are wheelchair accessible; the Nave is flat, with a ramp connecting it to the Cloister.
Normal visitor hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am–5pm, and Sunday, 12.30pm–3pm. Last entry is 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and 2.30pm Sunday. The suggested donation is £7 per adult.
Services, weddings and other events can restrict access to parts of the building. The East End and crypt begin to have access restrictions shortly before 5pm Monday to Saturday, ahead of 5.30pm Evensong.
Check the official site before you go: consult Worcester Cathedral for cathedral access and hours, Worcester City Council for the City Art Gallery and Museum, and The Commandery for its visiting information.

Walk through the historic centre
A walk through Worcester’s historic centre links the cathedral area with the day’s other stops. Keep this part flexible: pause at Greyfriars if you want to add another historic building before choosing a museum.
Greyfriars is a short historic stop on the route. For a closer look at the site and what to expect, read this guide to Greyfriars Worcester.
Use the walk to make your next choice based on opening days: the City Art Gallery and Museum, Tudor House Museum and The Commandery do not share the same schedule. Their hours are listed below so you can plan the order around the day you visit.

Choose a museum stop
Worcester’s museum choices include the free City Art Gallery and Museum and Tudor House Museum, with different opening patterns and access details. Pick one for this itinerary, then leave The Commandery for the final stop.
Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum
The City Art Gallery and Museum is free to enter and normally opens Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–4pm, and Sunday, 10am–3pm. It is closed Mondays and bank holidays.
For step-free access, use the level-access entrance on Taylor’s Lane; a lift serves all floors. The Foregate Street entrance has steps.
Tudor House Museum
Tudor House Museum is free to visit and normally opens Wednesday to Saturday, 10am–4pm. It is at Friar Street, Worcester, WR1 2NA.
The Grade II* listed building has steps and stairs. It welcomes assistance dogs and describes adaptations to help visitors where possible.

Finish at The Commandery

The Commandery is at Sidbury, Worcester, WR1 2HU. Its visitor season normally runs from February to December, and it is closed throughout January. Normal hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–4pm, and Sunday, 10am–3pm; last entry is one hour before closing.
Listed day-ticket prices are £10 for an adult, free for children under 5, £5 for children aged 5–16, and £25 for a family of up to 2 adults and 3 children.
Additional admission options can be purchased when visiting and are not currently available online. The Commandery recommends checking before a special visit because parts or all of the site may occasionally close.
